Review and Analysis of OJT Experience
Lessons
learned from OJT Experience
During my
training period, I was assigned by the project manager of the IDESS interactive
technologies to the department of programming section and then after the
assignment we were oriented about the policy of the company it turned out to be
that IDESS are so strict when it comes to bringing smart phone devices to the
production area and also we were also told that we will be also not allowed to
take pictures in our production site. My experience under the programming
section are made me think of what It looks like to be on the field of specially
when you are in Programming.
Also there are also times where in, we were told to come by
the admin office to help the other employees when it comes to scanning there
sensitive documents, then it really turned out to be a very sensitive
information of the company, I didn’t even think that we will be entrusted with
that kind of data. Also most of the time our programming head conducts scrum
meetings including the employees of IDESS to give an update on what is our on-going
task as of now and what will be the next
task to do.
Overall, my experience with the company was really valuable
and I really did learn a lot of stuff that I would not have learned otherwise
since it was really different from what school has taught us.
IT Skills Learned and implemented
I learned to improve my coding standard also I
learned that it is true that every company has different standards when it
comes to choosing there framework that will be used for the production that is
why you have to be responsive and you must also be an attentive listener and
adapt new technologies fast as you can do it.
Problems encountered and solution
applied
The problems I encountered were mostly in the
part of the development of the user interface and then I learned to use the CSS
more properly to attain the required design of our head.
People Met and dealt with
The
first few people I met at IDESS were Ms. Anya Rogayan, HR and Ms. Erlinda
Tallada. They were the ones who set an interview, briefed and introduced us to
the company. Later, I was assigned to
the 3D Graphics team leader Mr. Armando Lacival Jr. He then introduced me to
other members of the team, and lastly I was introduced to Mr. Crisanto Moreno.
At first I was very shy and intimidated by them because I know myself that I am
only a Trainee.
The first people o met at IDESS were
Ms. Anya Rogayan, HR and Ms. Erlinda Tallaga were in they were the ones who
conducted my interview, and also they introduced the company to us about their
policy and what is allowed and not. And then Ms. Erlinda Tallada Introduced as
to the employees of IDESS production area.
Recommendations/Suggestions
to improve the practicum program
I think it would be nice if Gordon College
had more business partners that offer On-the-Job training to the students. This
would really help students that do not have connections or contacts to a
company start earlier in their training period instead of blindly looking for a
company that accepts one.
